Stinging Voices
Poetry as an oral form of storytelling has a long history, but poets are not voice actors & often kill the power of their own work.
Stinging Voices pairs a poet with a professional actor to bring the experience of enjoying poetry to the modern stage. This experiential experiment debuts with our Founders, actor A. Salt and poet Andrea Brice.
There are milestones that will inform the direction of Stinging Voices and whether it will evolve from an arthouse project into a curated platform for poets + actors.

The Founders
We met on Twitter.
Andrea Brice, aka Nettie Kestler,
lives a comfortable life while her synapses misfire. She does math to put cheese on her daily bread, but afterwards she writes poetry, stories and half-finished novels, finding enjoyment by twisting her characters into unexpected shapes.
Besides torturing innocent words, she can also be found in her garden deadheading flowers, or in the house repainting ceilings or upholstering walls. Her husband smiles and kisses the top of her head when her fingers are tapping at a keyboard because he and the dog are momentarily safe from one of her projects.

Salt is the Presiding Creative of Saltisalt.com, a board member of the Film & Media Makers Guild of Portland (Oregon), and a co-founder of Stinging Voices. As a former multi-national, healthcare IT thought leader and cybersecurity pioneer; Salt very much prefers to #MakeStory and be happy.
